Only the things you really love.
So we here at HETTLE have been on the road quite a bit lately, and we are not done with our travels just yet. Something we have been pondering on our long drives of late is the importance or non importance of hand made goods. Obviously this is what we do, so no mystery on how we come down on the topic. But it is a good discussion non the less. I know I’m in good company with many who curate their homes like a personal museum. We only surround ourselves (and our family) with things that we really love. Objects that have been well crafted can make everyday life special. The traditions that lie behind the manufacturing of these things are all about using the best materials, maybe making them by hand, even if it takes longer this way and ensuring that the end product will last for years. Well made, well-designed things grow old gracefully. For us we know that with care your ‘things’ can last a lifetime, it’s why we commit to handmade, why we invest in artists and why it makes everyday a little bit special. As the season turns to the holiday’s and shopping is in high gear, we hope you consider handmade too.
